Our Wisdom is From the Lord – (Proverbs 12:8)

Daily Proverbs

A man will be commended according to his wisdom, but he who is of a perverse heart will be despised.

Daily Bible Study
This verse contrast the heart of the wicked against the heart of those who have placed their faith in God through Christ alone. Our wisdom comes from the Lord, it comes through His work on our consciousness, which is renewed by the work of the Holy Spirit who indwells us, in conjunction with the study of God's word. When we use our wisdom to God's glory, for the good of others, for the spread of the Gospel, following God's purposes and direction we are to be commended. Not necessarily by people; but by the Lord. However, when we live wickedly, for our own self gain and to hurt or harm others, we are despised by people and open ourselves up to the discipline of God. Moreover, those who do so and do not know Christ, build up wrath against themselves for the day of judgment. Remember, nothing we do is hidden from God. God not only see's all of our actions, but He also knows the thoughts, motives and desires behind those actions.

This means, God doesn't just judge us based on our actions, but on our thoughts and motives as well. Just because bad behavior can be hidden from others, don't think it was hidden from God, it wasn't. And remember we may live in a day and age when bad behavior can be reasoned away. A day and age where we have learned to use our tongue to debate with others in order to hide our true motives; but God is not like man. We won't discuss anything with God, He's not going to stand us up and ask for our reasoning. Instead, He will already know the true motives of our heart and if we are found without Jesus, then we are found with sin and will spend eternity in Hell. We will spend eternity in pain, without hope, knowing that hope is forever removed from us, and  those who go there will be forever separated from everything and everybody including God. This means a separation that is not only known, but completely understood, and also felt for all eternity.
