We Help Build Others as God Builds Us – (Proverbs 27:17)
Daily Proverbs
Daily Bible Study
We are called to be in Christ Jesus our Lord. This means we are called to be followers of Jesus, submitting to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as well as disciples or students of Jesus. This means we do not just claim to be Christian, but that we follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit who indwells us as we study God's word, the Bible. That we submit on a daily basis for God's direction as we carry out our day to day activities. Moreover, that we regularly study and read God's word on a daily basis. And through God's word in us, we become iron forged in God's furnace. And this is what these passages are referring to, this is the meaning conveyed in this section of scripture. The iron spoken of here, is God's word and a godly life built on following the Lord. The Holy Spirit uses our regular study of God's word to prepare us for service to the Lord and to handle the trials that come from living in a fallen world.
As we grow in Christ from the study of God's word and guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are then called to help teach others how to follow the Lord and to model a godly life to those around us. We are called to be mentors, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives and most of all spiritual leaders. In addition, we are called to come along side our fellow brethren in Christ. We are called to help them, support them and build them up in godly living and the word of God. Moreover, as children of God, we are called to teach God's word to the young and to study God's word together to encourage each other and sharpen the intellect. We are called to help each other grow in the knowledge of Christ and God's plan of redemption. This means we are called to spend the time needed in God's word, to accurately know it. Before we ever teach anyone anything about the Bible, we are to have spent adequate time understanding and experiencing the joy that can only be found in the study of God's word.
