Without God’s Wisdom, Our Strength is Ineffective – (Proverbs 24:5-6)
Daily Proverbs
A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; for by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.
Daily Bible Study
The source of true strength is found in our faith, and it comes from God and His wisdom. A wisdom that comes from the regular study of His word and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Likewise, strength without wisdom is ineffective at best, and at worst dangerous to others. As we grow in Christ and the study of God's word the Holy Spirit teaches us wisdom while providing guidance and discernment. And through the trials of life as we remain steadfast in our trust, God provides us experience in using His wisdom. A wisdom learned through the application of God's word and a lifetime of following Christ Jesus our Lord. And this is where true strength is developed, this is how a godly character is created. In addition, it's a godly character which leads to a fruitful and godly life.
By the application of God's wisdom to the difficulties in life we learn more about the faithfulness of God. Through our perseverance in trials we better understand the faithfulness, sovereignty and omnipotence of God. Moreover, it's from this type of repeated experience, we learn to trust and take comfort in God's word. Another key to any difficult circumstances, both large and small is the consultation with godly counselors. And this should be accompanied by prayer and application of God's wisdom to the problem at hand. In other words, we should seek out godly men and women and ask their advice. We should ask them and others to pray over the matter with us. This brings honor to God and true success for us. And even though these verses speak of rulers and kings it's applicable to our lives as well.
