When the Situation is Desire a Fool Cannot Be Found – (Proverbs 24:7)

Daily Proverbs
Wisdom is too lofty for a fool; He does not open his mouth in the gate.

Daily Bible Study
The gate or entrance to the city was the location where all matters of business and seriousness were handled. It was kind of a combination between the court building, city hall and the debate hall. The important men of the city would meet there to debate issues, settle civil matters and give advice to townsfolk. It was there where they determined what was best for the city and her people. And it was the one location, besides the battlefield where the fool could not be found. The point here for us is when the situation is serious, and matters call for acting with wisdom the fool is at a loss and is usually absent from the scene.

The fool likes to work behind the scenes, where he cannot be seen in order to criticize and destroy what is good and ethical. Therefore, they are usually absent from areas where they can be debated and shown for who they really are. Moreover, the fool will hide the true motives of their heart which is destruction for others. God is reminding us therefore of the uselessness of the fool and the value of wisdom gained from following the Lord. And we as followers of Christ are not to entertain fools or give any time to their behavior. Instead, we are to seek the wisdom of God through the study of His word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit as well as the advice of godly men and women.
