Wisdom and Faith from God Brings Strength – (Proverbs 30:29-31)

Daily Proverbs

There are three things which are majestic in pace, yes, four which are stately in walk: A lion, which is mighty among beasts and does not turn away from any; a greyhound, a male goat also, and a king whose troops are with him.

Daily Bible Study
In these passages Agur tells us of four great, powerful and majestic creatures and the illustration is that there is strength in wisdom. In addition, these passages also illustrate how God's wisdom can prepare us for the leadership of others, as we gain understanding and discernment. Each of these four illustrations received their abilities from God and not from themselves. Their majesty displays the work of God in creation. And the same is true for us today, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the study of God's word, we grow in mercy and compassion for those we lead.

The point of these passages is that there is wisdom and strength which surpasses the wisdom of men and that comes from God and not from man. Man's wisdom focuses only on the temporary, only on the here and now. Whereas God's wisdom focuses on the eternal things of God and with that wisdom comes strength from the Lord. In addition, God's wisdom provides for a more abundant life now through our fellowship with God. A fellowship that can only happen through faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. His sacrifice for us on the Cross of Calvary has forever cleared away our sins and brought us back into fellowship with God the Father.
