Trusting a Fool Brings Harm to Oneself – (Proverbs 26:6)

Daily Proverbs

He who sends a message by the hand of a fool Cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.

Daily Bible Study
This is one of the most useful of passages in God's book of wisdom. And it's one we need to take to heart. More often than not we think we can change someone who is foolish by giving them a little more responsibility. We hope deep down in our hearts, if we give them something important to do for us, certainly they will see it through. Then disaster strikes and what we hoped would be a building experience, crumbles into disaster before our eyes and we suffer harm. And that's what this passage speaks about.

In addition, it also goes on to tell us that trusting a fool with an important task is like cutting off our own feet. When we send a message by the hands of someone else we must realize, like it or not that person represents us to those we send them to. They are our representative, they are presenting us and our message to the recipient. And sending a foolish person can only harm us socially, economically and yes even physically. We cannot change a fool, but God can! We are told by God's word to rebuke foolishness. Therefore the best thing we can do for a fool is tell them about Christ and let the Holy Spirit do a work in their hearts first. For what is impossible for us, is always possible for God.
