Daily Proverbs

Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man? The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.

Oh, how hard it is to walk in true humility, to truly put others before ourselves and to do so without the slightest bit of pride and in true love and humbleness. Why is that? Because of our sin nature, which loves self and the things of the world, more than God. However, what's impossible for us is easy for God. And when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit enters into our hearts. And it's the Holy Spirit who begins to replace the hard-stone of self, which makes up our hearts today, with the soft flesh of love for the Lord. In addition, with our salvation the most amazing transformation takes place in our lives as we acquire the imputed righteousness of Jesus, which God freely gives to us because of our faith in Him. With our salvation, we become children of God and joint-heirs with Christ in the kingdom of God.

And with our salvation, we also receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who begins His work of spiritual growth in us. This process of spiritual growth carried out in us by the Holy Spirit is called "sanctification." And through the process of sanctification we are transformed from the inside out. This means that it's through the power of the Holy Spirit and His work in our hearts and minds, that we can walk in faithfulness which also means having loyalty. Loyalty to God, loyalty to Jesus, loyalty to our families and those who depend on us. And only the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives could give us the ability to do so in meekness and humility, displaying the characteristics of integrity from a heart changed by God. The Bible also tells us followers of Jesus who give their lives over to the Lord, who let the Holy Spirit develop these traits in them, will often pass these traits down to their children. This is because true faith produces genuine works of love, which we in turn model for our children, thereby displaying to them a life dedicated to Christ Jesus our Lord.
