Those Who Devise Evil Can Never Have Joy – (Proverbs 12:20-21)

The writer of these passages, strategically discusses the contrasting parallel between the plans of the wicked and those of the righteous. The righteous as we know are those who love God and placed their faith in the Messiah alone, whom we know as Jesus Christ our Lord. Here those who plan evil with deceit have no joy because of the inherit risk and dangers of their plan. In addition, because their plans, are at their core wicked, they steal and take joy from others including themselves. The wicked mistake the desires of their sin nature for true joy and therefore can never find satisfaction in their actions and wicked deeds. Instead, they are always striving for more, never finding peace and joy in their lives. And as their wickedness continues their hearts slowly turn to stone as they lose the ability to love.
They do not love themselves, and they cannot love God or others. This is contrasted with the righteous who are led by God, who have peace, who have a love for God, for others and for themselves, they have nothing to fear and therefore have true joy. A joy which comes from God Himself and defies human understanding because it comes from the Lord as we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Whom we received as part of our salvation through our faith in Jesus alone. God sends us His Holy Spirit who keeps us and teaches us until we go home to be with Him. The righteous whose plans are at their core meant to bring joy to others make themselves counselors of peace because of the love they have for those who are lost and those in need. Therefore, they cannot be overtaken by trouble as it relates to how they are seen in God's eyes and their eternal destination.
