God’s People are to Beware Immorality – (Proverbs 23:26-28)
Daily Proverbs
My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways. For a harlot is a deep pit, and a seductress is a narrow well. She also lies in wait as for a victim, and increases the unfaithful among men.
Daily Bible Study
As we near the end of this chapter of Proverbs we receive more practical advice for living out our day-to-day lives. Here the proverbs speak of immorality. And oh, how Satan loves to bring down Christians with immorality. Sexual immorality is one of those sins that destroys lives so well because it attacks the foundation of our life. This type of immorality destroys our relationships with others. And by doing so it destroys marriages, families and careers. In addition, it can also set flames to the legacy of Christian work developed over a lifetime of service to God. And this is why Satan loves to attack and catch Christians with immorality! Dear Christian this is worth repeating again and again.
Satan loves to destroy the lives of both Christian men and women with immoral behavior. Why? Because Satan knows if he can do so, he will not only destroy their lives, but also the legacy of their work built up over a lifetime. With immoral behavior Satan can make it as if a Christian and their legacy of work never existed. And we must remember the cleverness of evil. Evil will lie in wait for that perfect moment when our pride is high and our ego has peaked. That time when we are sure we can stand in our own power. It's then Satan will attack, subtly at first, but with every intention of total destruction. Therefore, dear Christian we stand always in Christ and always with a heart of humility, meekness and love. We rely on God's word and the Holy Spirit for guidance and not our own ingenuity.
