The Wicked Walk in Perversity – (Proverbs 6:12-15)

Daily Proverbs

A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth; he winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers. Perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually, he sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.

Daily Bible Study
God in these passages is giving us further warning as to the actions of the wicked. God is providing us with a description as to the behavior of the wicked in order for us to be better prepared for those attacks, we know will come as a result of the fallen world we live in. The wicked become masters of deception in order to avoid detection that will expose their true nature. They master social interaction at times to make themselves more acceptable to those they plan to hurt and destroy. This is a natural byproduct of living in a world influenced by the one the Apostle Paul calls, "the prince of the power of the air" who is Satan. And because of Satan's influence, the wicked will sow discord and chaos which leads to calamity if it will help them in their cause to destroy. We have to remember that ultimate goal of Satan and the fallen world we live in, is to destroy anything good, and anything related to the kingdom of God.

In addition, because of his hatred for God and the things of God, Satan will do anything to hurt, destroy, hinder or thwart the children of God and our activities for the Lord. Therefore, we are to beware of the actions of the wicked, we are to test everything by the Word of God, following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are to use wisdom gained from the study of God's word and not to rely on our emotions, because they can so easily be fooled by the things of this world. We have to remember even though God will always forgive those who turn to Christ, the consequences of our wicked actions at times, cannot be undone! Moreover, all sin, no matter how small has built into it, the consequences which come from committing it. There will be times when the damage done by our wicked behavior cannot be repaired, however the Lord is faithful and He alone can restore the years lost by sin. The admonition for us in these passages is to watch, and be wary always following the Lord's guidance and submitting all things to the will of God through prayer as we walk in a world at enmity with God.
