Sin Will Cost Us Our Lives – (Proverbs 7:4-5, 21, 23-27)

These passages are dealing again with the perils of adultery; however the spiritual truths revealed here are true and applicable to all types of sin. Sin will always try to entice us and sparks our desire to rebel against God. And sin does this because it knows, wen we let our desires and lusts for the things of this world take over, we are doomed. Like the young man above it may seem fun and it's very enticing; however, its path descends into the chamber of death. And its trail leads directly to an eternity of total separation from God, because it leads to Hell. And many who were strong, famous, rich and wise in the world's eye succumbed and were destroyed. That's why sin and this dark world work together. We have to remember sin is never full, it's always hungry for more and it's never had enough. Therefore, sin will never stop until it completely destroys its host. Even then it will feed on the dead carcass until it can latch onto another victim.
All it's waiting for is for us to let it in. Sin causes us to use worldly justification and false wisdom to justify our desires in order to accomplish our destruction. God's warning was just as true then, as it is today and we can guard ourselves, with God's word. And we can rely on and trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit to save us from destruction. We have to remember we cannot do this under our own power. And those who failed before us, have proven that fact with their own destruction. We can only succeed through the power of the Holy Spirit who indwells us and the wisdom learned through the study of God's word. Using the spiritual armor given to us by God Himself. The armor of God includes the truth of God's word, the Gospel of peace, our faith in Christ who died for us, the imputed righteousness of Christ given freely to us for salvation, the guarantee of our salvation through Jesus, and the word of God with which we fight through the power of the Holy Spirit. With armor given freely to us because of our faith in Christ we have victory over the strong holds of those forces operating against us. As the Apostle Paul reminds us it's not against flesh and blood we fight. But against the principalities, dominions, and powers waging war against us in the heavenly places.
