We Have Wisdom and Knowledge of God From God – (Proverbs 30:2-3)

The Bible tells us the "beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord!" When the Bible speaks of "fear of the Lord," it's referring to having a love, reverence, respect, and admiration for God and for His word. And this passage is along the same lines. What Agur is saying is that apart from God, there is no wisdom. Man does not have the wisdom that leads to God, rather mankind has worldly wisdom which leads to death. This is because we of ourselves, do not have the ability in our sin nature to produce wisdom which leads to life. Moreover, mankind cannot come to the knowledge of God using our worldly wisdom, and that's why the Bible is so important. It's God's word, through the work of the Holy Spirit which gives life, because God's word testifies and leads us to Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore God not only has to give us wisdom and understanding, but He also gives us knowledge and understanding of Himself. The Holy Spirit brings life back to our dead hearts of stone in order for us to understand and receive the Gospel message of Christ. And once we understand the Gospel we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. With our salvation comes the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who begins His work of bringing our dead hearts back to life. And this process is called sanctification. And it's through the process of sanctification that the Holy Spirit illuminates scripture in order that we can begin to understand and grow in the wisdom of God. And without Christ, without the Holy Spirit and the work of sanctification in our lives, we do not have the ability to gain true wisdom. True wisdom is the knowledge of God gained through the study of His word, the Bible.
