God Cares for the Fool, Knowing He Can Become a Child of God – (Proverbs 26:10)

The Hebrew language used in this passage is obscure. And this can initially cause us problems with translation and interpretation. Therefore, it's important this verse is taken in context with the surrounding verses and chapter. And by doing so, we see that this verse indicates that even though the fool does everything within his power to harm himself and rebel against God. The Lord is still gracious and supplies the day to day needs of the fool. God does not want the fool to perish without the opportunity to hear the Gospel and accept Christ. God does not want the fool to perish without having the opportunity to have a relationship with God through faith.

God does this because of His love for all of mankind! And the same argument can be said of sinners. All of us are sinners, and all of us were dead in our trespasses and sins. Yet while we were in such a state, Jesus died for us. He did so knowing we would come to faith in Him. God supplies our needs because He loves us and gives us every opportunity to come to faith in Christ and so it is with the fool. God too supplies he needs to know the fool too can become a child of God through faith. Therefore, because God does not want people to perish in their sins, He supplies the day to day needs of all people. God does so knowing that some will answer His call of faith and receive salvation in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord.
