Do Not Pervert Justice for Wickedness – (Proverbs 24:23-26)

These things also belong to the wise: It is not good to show partiality in judgment. He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous," Him the people will curse; nations will abhor him. But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them. He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.

The wickedness of this world is in rebellion against God. Therefore, its ultimate goal is to draw people away from Christ. To destroy what is good and persuade as many people as possible to follow wickedness straight into Hell itself. Perverting justice is one more tool in the arsenal of the wicked. The wicked know if they can pervert justice long enough and at a high enough level, it will ultimately bring down a society, especially a society founded on Biblical principles. Justice and equity of treatment are tied to God's character and since God does not show partiality neither should we.

For any society to show partiality only brings destruction to the innocent and judgment from the Lord. Moreover, it destroys a godly society by turning society inward toward itself and away from God. In addition, it can also remove God's blessings on a nation and instead bring His judgments. When a nation strays from God, more often than not God will use other nations as part of His judgment. He will even use a wicked nation to bring terror and chaos as He judges that nation who has strayed from Him. Therefore, as followers of Christ, we are to protect the innocent, remove wickedness and seek to honor God in our daily lives.
