Part of a Woman’s Beauty is Her Discretion – (Proverbs 11:22)

To the ancient Israelites pigs were considered an unclean animal. This was because of God's law, which was meant for their health and safety. And because of this the people were to avoid them at all cost. They were not allowed to keep or raise them, much less cook them for dinner. Here God's word is emphasized in the strongest possible terms to His audience given their culture. These passages show how very important it was for women to keep their integrity and to show discretion in order to keep their honor intact. This Biblical principle is not old fashioned. And it's very much needed in today's world as much as it was back then. Women are part of the glue that holds the family together and their integrity and discretion very much affects the moral fiber of the family and future generations.

The role of a wife and mother is part of the central focus of the family. And a wife thrives with the loving support of her husband, who under Christ gives himself for the family.  Moreover, women bring honor to their marriage! Dear child of God, this is why Satan and this fallen world attack the roles of husband and wife as vigorously as they do. They know if they can change those roles, and dismantle the family, you place every person at a greater chance of being lost forever and never coming to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, as children of God and joint heirs with Christ, we are to shine forth in an unbelieving world and not give into the cultural norms of our times. We should not be witnessed, showing a lack of discretion, which only brings hurt to our own souls and damages our witness of Jesus in a world which is dying and passing away.
