Do Not Withhold Good from Others – (Proverbs 3:27-32)

Daily Proverbs

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so. Do not say to your neighbor, "go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it," when you have it with you. Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he dwells by you for safety's sake. Do not strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm. Do not envy the oppressor, and choose none of his ways; for the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright.

Daily Bible Study
God watches over and protects His children. God is also a protector of the weak, the frail and those with no one else to watch over them. As followers of Christ, we are commanded to not withhold good from others, when it is in our power to do good. This includes watching over and helping those who cannot help themselves, and blessing others as Christ has blessed us. This also includes how we treat those around us, including our neighbors, co-workers and those we meet as we live our day to day lives. In other words, we are to be a blessing to those we meet and those we share our lives with.

Moreover, it's not appropriate for a Christian to live as the world lives. We are not undermining others to get ahead, we are not trying to cause others to stumble, or fall because it would be to our advantage. We are not doing things out of spite. On the contrary, we are to help others in all aspects of life, and look to God as our reward, and for our direction. And by doing so, we remember that all good things we have are a gift from God. And we will be accountable for what blessings God has given us and how we used our time, talents and resources to help those in need around us.
