Wisdom is Praising God Through All Seasons – (Proverbs 30:7-9)

These passages are the only prayer within the book of proverbs. Here Agur is showing us true wisdom from God as he first asks the Lord to remove falsehood and lying far from him. And the second not to give him too much poverty which may cause him to do something like steal and profane the name of the Lord. Nor too many riches with which he may become too arrogant and deny the Lord and trust in his wealth. The Apostle Paul gives us the same message in his letters to the Philippians.
There Paul tells us he has learned to be content with a little or with a lot as the Lord provides. And this is the wisdom conveyed here in these passages of Proverbs, which is for us to learn to be content with what God has provided us. One of the most effective attacks of Satan and our sin nature is to make us discontented with what we have. To tell us we want more and to make us believe God is always holding back from us. However, we have to remember God has given us all we need. Moreover, God has given Himself for us; Jesus died for us, that we may spend eternity with Him and inherit the kingdom of God.
