We Must Set Our Hearts on God’s Precepts – (Proverbs 22:17-19)

Daily Bible Study
God has given each and every believer His word to instruct and guide us in His wisdom. Which is a godly wisdom, that not only leads to life because it leads us to Jesus, but also a more abundant life lived for Him. In addition, God has given us His Holy Spirit to help us meditate on scripture and better understand scripture, as we read and study His word, the Bible. The Holy Spirit does this by bringing us to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord. And with this knowledge we better understand the Bible in its entirety, as it speaks of Jesus and God's plan of redemption. Why is that? Because the Bible from Old Testament to New Testament testifies if Christ. And with this knowledge the Holy Spirit "illuminates scripture" for us. This means the Holy Spirit helps us to better understand scripture in light of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Moreover, it's the Holy Spirit who transforms our hearts and minds through God's process of spiritual growth called "sanctification."
As we grow in our love for Jesus and for the things of God, the Holy Spirit develops within us a desire to learn more about God's word. Sanctification is God's process of spiritual growth carried out in the hearts and minds of all followers of Christ. In addition, with the study of God's word, the Bible, we grow in His wisdom which we then apply to our day to day lives. This means as we read more and more of His word, we begin to fix our hearts on His precepts, through which we can live a happier and more abundant life in Christ, despite the trials we face. As this happens God's word becomes a pleasant thing upon our lips as we tell others of the good news of salvation through Christ alone by faith alone. Moreover, God speaks to each and every one of us, both through His Holy Spirit and through His word. God's word speaks to us because it reveals to us God's plan of redemption for all mankind and His interactions with humanity. God's word helps us to understand that God is ever present with us. He will never forsake us and will always uphold us until we go home to be with Him.
