The message at the heart of these passages is immoral behavior. Immorality destroys more than just our character, this is one sin where God has placed the punishment into the sin itself. This is because immorality affects our bodies, our souls and our spirits and corrupts those who were made in the image of God. When we engage in immoral behavior we create a sin that is not only difficult to escape from, but can also ruin us in other ways. This is because immorality affects all aspects of our life. Immorality can lead to financial loss, material loss, loss of health, strength, self-esteem as well as cause damage to the good relationships we have with others. Moreover, immorality destroys our conscience and produces within us a heart of stone, as we over time disregard the wrongness of our actions, which in turn can sear our conscience. This happens in order to keep ourselves from feeling the guilt of our behavior. The goal of this type of sin, is to trap us in our immoral behavior in order to destroy our lives. And one thing is true, nobody engaged in this type of behavior escapes without some damage to their heart, mind, spirit and relationships.

We have to remember this type of sin is very much like a deadly virus, once it has attached itself to our hearts and minds, it's only goal is to destroy us and our lives, and hurt as many of those around us as possible. Moreover, since it feeds the desires of our fallen nature, it will cause our minds to desire even more sin, until it has consumed all of our waking hours and our lives. That's why here and elsewhere in the Bible, God warns the righteous person, man or women to flee from immorality. To run away and not look back. A good example of this is Joseph, who, when tempted by Potiphar's wife ran out of the house as fast as he could. He did this to separate himself from the enticement of sin. We too should flee from immorality whenever we encounter it. Dear child of God, this is very important to understand, that we should never tolerate or try to live with immoral behavior in our lives. In our day to day lives as we walk with Christ, we should never attempt to live with, or near this type of sin. In addition, we should all work together to remove it from our lives, our homes and our neighborhoods. This is because God calls us to make a stand against immorality and wickedness which at its heart, is truly rebellion against God and will not only destroy our lives, but entire communities if it's allowed to grow.
