Daily Proverbs

The glory of young men is their strength, and the splendor of old men is their gray head.

Daily Bible Study
In our world today, especially in the western culture, we have lost the understanding of the glory and sense of belonging to a large family. That sense of belonging, which is associated with multi-generational families. And when that happens, we have truly lost the first-hand evidence of God's work, which is displayed for us throughout the lives of our family members. We also lose what it means to be part of a family throughout the generations. In other words, we have lost what it means to have roots and a family history to be part of, and a history of faith to look back on. And when this happens, we also can lose sight that each stage of life has its blessings, trials and advantages. Moreover, we also lose sight that God designed us this way on purpose. He has done so in order that we may benefit and help each other throughout life, as one generation passes down its knowledge, love, care, support, family bonding, history and material wealth to the next generation. This is all part of God's plan of creation for mankind. Dear child of God, this is so important to understand because families, especially multi-generational families are the glue that holds society together. Families form the foundation of faith upon which we learn the Bible and strengthen our love for God.

This is because we can clearly see His work throughout the generations. And that's why Satan and this fallen world have worked so hard to destroy families. Because Satan knows if he can destroy a family, if he with the help and cooperation of a fallen world, can destroy that legacy of faith and reclassify a family as anything else, but what God designed it to be, then Satan can decrease the likelihood of a person coming to faith in Christ. By destroying families Satan knows he can destroy lives and separate people from God. We have to remember we were all created in the image of God and all people were created with a body, soul and spirit. All people were created by God to be in harmony with one another, this means in relationship with one another. We were all created to have a relationship with God and each other. With youth comes vitality, the desire to explore with a mind waiting to learn new things, to learn about life and the world. And with old age comes dignity, life experience, wisdom, patience and a holiness seldom seen in the young. God meant this to compliment families as they grow together and learn from one another. Our responsibility as followers of Jesus is to remember this, and to not let the one the Apostle Paul calls the, "prince of the power of the air," who is Satan, working hand in hand with a fallen world, to continue to destroy the family. We need to remember that the family is a blessing, dearly loved and given to us by a God.
