Seek God’s Wisdom for a Good Life – (Proverbs 19:29)

All sin has its consequences and that's really the message at the heart of these passages. During our lifetime when we act selfishly, when we hurt others, when we harm the weak and seek after wicked things we not only store up wrath for the day of God's judgments. But we also cause ourselves harm in this life, both physically and spiritually. When we act wickedly we can face the judgments of men before we face God's judgment. And this is what these passages are speaking about. We cannot blame God for judgments we bring upon ourselves because of our sinful behavior. However, regardless of how far we have traveled down the road of sin, there is always hope. Because only Jesus can repair hearts and lives destroyed by sin. Only Jesus can restore a life broken by our rebellion against God, and bring hope, joy and peace back to a life lost to sin.
We should never forget, Jesus is always there ready and able to forgive us our sins, our trespasses and our rebellion. If we turn away from our sins, turn away from evil and turn toward God. If we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He is faithful to forgive us and we will be healed. Only Jesus can restore lives lost to sin and chaos. Only Jesus can make us whole and restore what was lost to this world. Even though we may face man's judgment, it's never too late to turn to Christ and start a new life. A life which gives new purpose. A life that is now in service to God. And a life which through faith can be lived as a child of God. A life that is no longer at enmity against God. We must never forget there are only two paths a person can take in their lifetime. We are either a child of God through our faith in Christ or we are the enemy of God. There really is no middle ground, we are either in Christ or we are at enmity with God.
