Our Marriage is a Blessing Before the Lord – (Proverbs 18:22)

Marriage is a blessing from God. A wife is one of the Lord's many gifts and marriage was meant for people to share their lives together. Marriage is more than a physical union. God gave us marriage as the ultimate act of bonding and sharing. Husband and wife are meant to grow together, to become one in every sense spiritually, socially and physically. They are meant by God to share their lives with each other and not with the world at large. There is no greater joy than two lives growing together over the years. No greater gift than two lives cleaving and becoming one inseparable whole in God's eyes. The family unit is the basic component of society. And the husband and wife are the backbone of every family. Therefore, as God's children, we have to use extra caution in a day and age when society has placed all its efforts on the destruction of the family. We have to remember Satan's goal is always to destroy what God has created and turn the hearts of the people away from God and toward a fallen world, which is quickly passing away. And Satan's primary tactics are deception and substitution.

Satan knows if he can destroy the family, he can destroy a society. Moreover, Satan knows before he can destroy a family, he must first destroy marriage. Because by first destroying the concept of having a father and mother, you then have the ability to destroy the backbone of a family. This is true because of our God given need for family. In the absence of a father and mother, we will by nature begin to call any combination of people and things a family. And by changing what a family is, we complete the process of substitution begun by Satan and a fallen world. A process where anything else can become the replacement for a family, anything but a father and mother. And substitution is really the core behind Satan's work in the world. Satan will substitute anything God has given us, with anything man has made through his influence, why? Because it dishonors God and it puts man in control, thereby turning us as a society away from the Lord. This in turn makes it easier to destroy a society. And destruction always begins by first creating a society who have abandoned the Lord and His word, the Bible.
