The Wicked Will Not Withstand the Coming Storm – (Proverbs 10:23-25)

Daily Bible Study
The everlasting foundation of those who are righteous before God, comes from the imputed righteousness of Christ! And the only way to obtain this foundation upon which we can withstand any storm is through faith in Jesus. Salvation through faith in Jesus is like water to a tree, it gives us a new spirit, making us sensitive to the things of God. And it brings the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit nourishes our souls that we may grow stronger, deeper roots in Christ. And as a result, we become taller and fuller with a more lasting foundation upon which to withstand the storm. God and His word, nourish the follower of Christ in much the same way. So when the whirlwind of tribulation comes, when the whirlwind of pain and suffering hits, when the whirlwind of temptation blows into the Christian's life we now have a foundation that can withstand the storm.
Through God's work in our lives, we develop a foundation with roots deep in Christ and deep in God's Word. A foundation able to withstand the storm, a foundation which builds the Christian into a taller, fuller and stronger follower of Jesus. This is compared to the wicked, who is also described here as the fool. The wicked concern themselves with the here and now, focused only on this world. The wicked because of their blindness, are ignorant of their impending destruction. Their only thoughts are how not to get caught and their pride and greed blinds them to the eternity in front of them. As a result, they do not comprehend that God watches all people, looking not only at the deeds of men, but also the desires, thoughts and motives behind those deeds. And because the wicked have forgotten God in their hearts, the thought of a coming storm does not register in their consciousness.
