The Wicked Travel a Path Which Leads to Death – (Proverbs 16:25)

Daily Bible Study
There is a popular saying in our secular world, one which always comes up when the topic of religion is brought up. That saying is, "people are basically good." Though it's a nice sediment and it's meant to convey the best in people it's really not true. People are not basically good, all people are sinners. All sin, no matter how small is rebellion against God. And the Bible tells us everyone has sinned, and all people fall short of God's law. And left to our own devices we will sin again and rebel against God. The Bible confirms for us that no one on earth is good, no not one person. Therefore, we are all under the penalty of sin which is death. Moreover, when God looks at us He looks at our hearts and our thoughts. How we feel toward others, what we think about others and why we do the things we do, counts just as much in God's eyes as our actions. This means even if we do something good, but for selfish reason, then that is sin in God's eyes.
In addition, this age, we are currently living in is called the church age. And because we live in the church age there is the restraining power of the Holy Spirit at work in the world to prevent evil and chaos from reigning supreme. However, that restraining force will not remain in place forever. Therefore, those who are without Christ, those who rebel against God are walking on a road which leads to death. In the end when Jesus returns, all of man's intellectual debates, justifications and emotional arguments will mean nothing. In the end, there will only be one question that will keep us from the fires of Hell. Do you already have a relationship with Christ Jesus our Lord? Did you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior when there was still time to do so, believing He is who He claimed to be, the very God of the universe? The answer to this question is all that matters. Moreover, we must remember, no one is going to debate or argue their points with God. Every person great and small, who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, will stand in front of God's throne of judgment already condemned in their sin.
