The Bible warns us over and over again as to the dangers of pride. It does so in a practical way to help us live out our day to day lives in a way that glorifies God and edifies the body of Christ, which is the church. This passage of scripture is no exception. Here we are warned once again the dangers of pride and the need for humility in our day to day lives. Pride is one of the many seeds of destruction we can sow because of our sin-nature. We see in these passages how pride affects our daily relationship with God. Pride is a state of rebellion against God. Pride is a condition where we place all of our confidence in ourselves, and in our own abilities. In pride is the rejection of God because it's fueled by us replacing the authority of God in our hearts and lives, with our desires and ego. Pride is the fuel of rebellion against God, thereby making pride one of the workers who paves the way to Hell! Pride is a condition where we move God out of the equation and place ourselves in the driver's seat.

Dear child of God, pride is one the primary symptoms of the terminal illness, we all have, which stems from our sin-nature. We are all dead in our trespasses and sins. Moreover, the greater the display of pride we show the world, only signifies the greater the deadness of our hearts toward God and others. The symptom of pride, shows that we in our hearts, have replaced God with ourselves. Thereby displaying further, the severity of our illness and our fallen nature. The end result of which is death and eternal separation from God in Hell. This is why the Bible warns us that pride will always lead to destruction! Pride will always seem to work at first, why? Because, as it grows in our hearts, it sears our conscience, thereby deadening our remorse for the sins we commit. However, we must take note, the end of pride is always destruction! Pride is one-hundred percent fatal, one-hundred percent of the time. And here these passages contrast pride with humility, which is a heart humbled to the Lord. A heart that follows God and lets the Lord direct our lives, through our submission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Coming before God in genuine humility and love, will always lead to honor in the life of the humble servant of God.
