Daily Bible Study
Once again, God gives us practical advice for our day to day lives. How many of us have done this? We think we know the answer before the person finishes speaking and we interrupt and blurt out what we think the answer should be. In those situations, even if we're right and we truly did know the question and the answer, that's not what God wants from us. This type of behavior does not foster relationship, nor does it show love toward others. Our Christianity, are walking with God is based on relationship. How we live our lives as children of God, involves relationships. Moreover, our ongoing relationships with God and with those around us is directly related to the love we have for God, for those who are lost for those we meet in our day to day lives.

We are called to live out our faith by building and strengthening our relationships with others and with God on a daily basis. And we are doing so by our constant submission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. To walk with God on a daily basis, means to submit to the Holy Spirit's guidance at all times. Therefore, when we interrupt others because we're certain we know the answer, it's not to our honor; but to our shame. Because whether we were right or wrong, it shows we did not take the time to show respect, appreciation and dignity, by listening to others first. This type of behavior causes pride in us and does not add to our wisdom; but adds to our shame because it shows that we place ourselves above others. God teaches us that truly listening is not only important to our understanding; but also to building relationships with others as well as for our spiritual growth, as children of God.
