Daily Bible Study
God has not hidden Himself from mankind; His works are obvious in nature, in people and in the observable universe around us. In addition, He has given us a heart and a soul that we may hear and respond to His call on our lives. And that's part of the thought conveyed in this passage. Everything mankind knows about himself, nature and God come from the Lord. Without God's sovereignty and omniscience in creation and without God's general and special revelation to us, mankind would be unaware of his surroundings and unaware of God. All that we are, all that we have and our ability to think, reason and perceive, is a gift of God. And it's the Holy Spirit who prepares our hearts to receive God's call to faith and understand the Gospel message by which we are saved. This passage speaks of God's work in creation when He molded man from the dust of the earth. In addition, it reminds us that God is the creator and He sees and hears the activities of His creation on a daily basis.

In other words, nothing is hidden from the eyes, ears and knowledge of God. God, even knows the motivations of our hearts and the thoughts of our minds which give rise to our actions. Moreover, God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit, through His word the Bible and through all of creation! It's the Holy Spirit who speaks to us and changes our hearts whereby we have the ability to respond to God's call of salvation on our lives. And along with sight and hearing, God also blesses each one of us with a different blend of physical and spiritual gifts for use with His kingdom and to help those around us. Our physical gifts from God work hand in hand with our spiritual gifts as the Holy Spirit, through our obedience to His guidance, writes the Law of God on our hearts. Through the study of God's word, the Bible and the process of spiritual growth called sanctification carried out by the Holy Spirit in our lives, we are prepared by God for His service. And this passage is a reminder that God has given us our physical bodies along with our mental attributes, as well as our spiritual gifts, in order that we can use them to learn about Him and help those in need around us.
