Daily Bible Study
God's word the Bible has a lot to say about the person who has become the fool. And it is not because of the fool's lack of intelligence, it's because of their obstinacy and enmity toward God. The fool is so stubborn, and his heart is so entrenched in rebellion against God, that he would rather go to Hell than to admit there is a sovereign God who loves him dearly. Make no mistake about it, dear Christian when those who deny God claim He does not exist. When they argue against God and against the Bible. They do so not because they think God doesn't exist. No, they do so because they are sure God does exist and they are adamant they do not want to follow Him. They are in complete rebellion against Him. That's why they are so passionate in their hatred not of religion in general, but of Jesus and those who follow Christ. They do not want to be reminded of any sin, especially their own.

If most people were honest they would admit they do not accept Christ, not because of unbelief, but because they do not want God telling them their sin is wrong. In other words, they do not want God telling them how to live their lives. They would rather mock God, the things of God and attack the people of God and live as the choose to live. They enjoy their sin and they would rather rebel against God and live as they choose to now, than to worry about eternal life in the future. The hatred in the heart of a fool causes them to deny any possibility of eternity in order to justify their own behavior for the here and now. That is why God's word warns us so strongly against the fool. Here in this passage and elsewhere, the Bible tells us to avoid the fool. Do not speak wisdom in his presence. If you do his heart is so full of hatred and rebellion that he cannot prevent himself from mocking and speaking out. We must remember we cannot save the fool, only God can change the heart of the fool and make alive what is dead in trespasses and sins.
