Destruction Lies in the Hands of Unfaithful Men – (Proverbs 25:19-20)

Daily Proverbs
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth and a foot out of joint. Like one who takes away a garment in cold weather, and like vinegar on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.

Daily Bible Study
Vinegar is very acidic and soda is an alkaline so when you mix the two together, you often get a violent reaction as both are destroyed. That's the image God is giving us for the actions of both the unfaithful person and the insensitive person. More often than not the results of their actions or lack of action leads to destruction. The Bible in these passages warns us that their behavior can take an already bad situation and make it much worse, why? Because in either case, they are not only in rebellion against God, but their hearts are not with those who are counting on them. Because of their sin-nature, they cannot take the focus off of themselves, nor their desires. The unfaithful man has only his best interest at heart.

You cannot rely on the unfaithful person to complete anything or to even operate with your best interest in mind. An example is the person who no matter what they promise, or how many times you confirm with them the task, will in the end do either what they desire or what benefits them the most. On the other hand, the insensitive person destroys relationships and hurts those around them. Because like the unfaithful person their concern is only for themselves and how they feel. As result regardless of the situation, they are only concerned about their own feelings and desires and as a result, they are unable to empathize with those who are hurting or going through trials. Like pouring vinegar on soda anything committed into the hands of the unfaithful or insensitive person is often destroyed.
