The Fool and Wicked Only Have Destruction at Heart – (Proverbs 29:8-11)
Daily Proverbs
Daily Bible Study
These passages show us the true intentions of the wicked and the overall desire of their heart which is destruction always. The wicked do not desire order or structure. On the contrary, they desire conflict and chaos. As these passages so aptly point out there is no peace with a fool. Since their hearts are set only toward the destruction of others, there can never be peace or compromise. No matter what the agreement reached they will not honor it in order to seek more destruction. Because of the rage in their hearts against God, havoc accompanied by evil will always follow them. They would set the city aflame if they could, because they are ruled by emotions and their foolish desires stemming from a heart at enmity against God.
In disputes they are always rude and abusive because they do not care about right or wrong, they seek only to achieve their own desires. Therefore, there is no peace in dealing with a fool or wicked people. They will always vent their emotions which stem from their greed and need to fulfill the desires of their flesh. They hate people of integrity because the righteousness of God shines a light on their darkness. A darkness which they themselves want to keep hidden from others in order to continue in their wickedness. Because of this there is no compromise when dealing with a fool, just as there is no compromise when dealing with evil. As followers of Christ, we are called to shine a light on wickedness and foolishness. We are not to let it thrive and grow in the darkness of this world. Rather, we are to shine the light of the Gospel and the salvation given only through Christ Jesus our Lord.
