Those who are righteous love instruction and knowledge, and the Lord will guide them and establish them in His wisdom and truth. These passages speak of the instruction of God, which leads to salvation. All wisdom comes from God, through both the Holy Spirit who is God and God's word the Bible. Moreover, all wisdom from God leads to eternal life because it leads to Christ Jesus our Lord. Our foundation of righteousness and truth is the rock of Christ upon which we stand. He is the solid bedrock upon which we build our lives, using the word of God, which is the Bible as our guide. As followers of Jesus, we are first saved by grace because of our faith in Him. We are then indwelt by the Holy Spirit who helps us to understand and memorize the Bible as we study God's word and grow in our knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Our faith is based on our relationship with God through Christ. This means it's from that relationship we have with God through Jesus, that we obtain wisdom from the Lord.
The wicked are foolish and stupid in God's eyes, because they rebel against God. Therefore, they do not understand, nor do they accept the wisdom of God. They follow their own intentions, led by their desires which stem from their sin nature. Their sin nature, in turn, is controlled by their spirit, which is dead in trespasses and sins. Believing their actions will establish their way and bring them happiness and success, they ignore God in their lives, as they are willfully ignorant of the wrath which they accumulate against themselves. Because of their rebellion against God, they add condemnation upon wrath through their rejection of Jesus. God compares this to those He see's as righteous, because through faith, they have their roots deep in Christ. Because we are firmly planted in Jesus, when the storm hits we are not destroyed because we are secure on a foundation built by God, and not by our own hands. But the wicked can never be established, because they have chosen to prepare themselves for destruction, through their rejection of Christ Jesus our Lord.
