The Heart of Wickedness is Rebellion Against God – (Proverbs 21:29-30)

Here is a picture of the true heart of wickedness, which is in constant rebellion against God. And they do so by the hardening of one's heart against the Lord. This verse shows the wicked in their rebellion are obstinate against God and the things of God. They seek only what suits their desires regardless of truth or what is right. Whereas those who follow the Lord, walk in integrity as they are led by the Holy Spirit. The wicked foolishly think they are successful in their rebellion because they are blind to the wrath that awaits them under God's judgment for sin. In ignorance, they forget that the Lord is long suffering, not wanting any to perish, but instead wanting all to come to faith in Jesus before it's too late. We have to remember that it is God's will that people spend eternity with Him. Moreover, the culmination of God's plan of redemption is to bring all of creation under the lordship of Christ Jesus to the glory of God the Father.
The wicked are blinded by their rebellion, they are misled by their desires and wants. Therefore, they do not understand, nor do they perceive the wrath of judgment they have built up against themselves because of their sin. This is because the wicked fail to understand that God is sovereign. The hardness of their hearts has led them to believe they can follow their own desires and conceive whatever plans please them. However, there is no amount of cunning, tricks, evil, magic or beliefs that stand against the Lord. The wicked forget that God is always in control. Moreover, God has always remained in control and there is nothing mankind can do to overthrow God. In the end all people great and small, those who are found without Jesus, will face God's judgment for sins committed in both thought and deed. This means as a society, we can debate each other, we can force the Bible out of society and we can even pretend God doesn't exist. However, that does not change the sovereignty of God, nor does it change the outcome of humanity and the judgment that awaits all people who are found without faith in Chrsit Jesus our Lord.
