A Fool Brings Destruction into His Own Life – (Proverbs 18:6-7)

The Bible once again is showing us the condition of the fool's heart. A heart hardened by sin and indulgence in selfish desires. A hardened heart which is at enmity with God, which lives only to infect others with its hatred of the things of God. The heart of a person in rebellion against God will do whatever they can, to harass, hurt and bring tribulation into the lives of the people of God, as well as thwart what is good and wholesome. These passages speak of the person whose only aim is to bring destruction through contention. A fool, because of the bitterness of their heart, will always fight against what is good and will always seek to destroy a relationship, rather than build it up. A fool is always in rebellion against God. Why? Because they have contempt for the things of God. Moreover, the fool acts out of their ignorance and sinful desires. Always in denial of the wrath of God, which awaits them for all of eternity.
In their foolishness they think some how by ignoring God, it will make God and His moral absolutes go away. However, that couldn't be farther from the truth and therefore they are ignorant of the wrath they buildup against themselves, since their end is only destruction. As children of God through Christ, we are called not to have a foolish heart. We are not to live as the world lives, and justify wickedness as the world justifies rebellion against God. Rather, we are to place our trust in Christ alone and our concerns where they belong at the feet of Jesus. Only God can replace a foolish heart with a heart of wisdom. Only God can take a heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh, a heart which is strong in His word, the Bible. Therefore, we are to seek our guidance from the Holy Spirit who indwells and equips us. And we are to do so to the glory of God the Father through Christ and not ourselves. We do this in order that we may be a light to the world as we submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, serving the Lord, as He brings people to faith and the saving knowledge of Jesus before it's too late.
