Daily Proverbs

A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, but it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.

Daily Bible Study
A fool chases after evil and his own lust. A fool desires the things of this world and not the things of God. His heart is blinded by the pursuit of his own desires and his hatred of God. Therefore, he will never know the fulfilled desire of having a relationship with God through Christ Jesus our Lord. God has created each and every one of us. He has built us with a longing desire that was meant to drive us back to Him, a void in our hearts meant to bring us home again into His arms. A desire and void that can only be filled by a relationship with God, through Christ Jesus our Lord. However, the fool who has rebelled against God, has damaged his own heart and corrupted this need for God.

The fool has turned this desire into a wicked lust. The desires of a fool are corrupted, so much so he considers it an abomination to depart from his fleshly desires and seek God. There is no hope for such a fool! In his wickedness he is unable to turn to God. However, with God all things are possible and it's through the power of the Holy Spirit that heart's change. It's the Holy Spirit's work in us, that changes the heart of the fool to hear and respond to God's call of salvation through Christ alone. It's the Holy Spirit who changes the hearts of men, after which they can hear and accept the call of God on their lives. What this means for us, is that it's the Holy Spirit who brings people to salvation. Our responsibility is to present the Gospel to all people and let the Holy Spirit do His work of salvation, as we submit to His guidance.
