The Wicked Pervert Justice – (Proverbs 18:5)
Daily Proverbs
Daily Bible Study
The distortion of justice has become all too common in our world today. Partiality along with the perversion of justice in favor of the wicked, has become a normal behavior in our society. Our society today not only dishonors God, but we have placed emotions and how we feel about ourselves on a pedestal, disregarding right and wrong. Many today feel that because their wicked hearts can argue justification for their deeds, that will excuse their wickedness. Many feel if they do not get the outcome they desire, then attacking others is justified. However, we must remember God knows the true intents of our hearts. When God looks at us in judgment, God looks at our hearts and He knows the true intentions and desires of our hearts. In other words, God doesn't just look at our actions, but he also judges us based on the thoughts, desires and intents behind all of our actions. God knows the wickedness that goes on in the hearts of humanity, and He is the ultimate judge and none who are without Christ will escape.
We must remember God will judge us according to His standards. God is not a man that He will listen to our vain arguments. Though we can debate with each other over justification for our actions, no one will stand before the Lord and debate God. Those without Christ will stand before God silent, with their mouths shut, accepting the eternal torment and agony that awaits all those who have not accepted Jesus as their Lord, Savior and God. Moreover, all those who reject Christ will receive an immortal body that will feel, understand and remember every second of every moment in this life that they sinned and rebelled against God. Every opportunity they had to accept God's grace and instead rejected Jesus will be brought to mind. And they will do so in total separation from God, in total separation from all others, and for all eternity they will be isolated and punished in Hell. Therefore, we should not praise the wicked, nor should we honor evil or glorify the ungodly, because to do so denies their ultimate destruction and keeps them firmly planted in their separation from God. Rather, our hearts should break for what awaits the wicked, and we should seek to bring as many as possible into the kingdom of God, as we are led by the Holy Spirit to tell others about Jesus.
