There is More Hope for the Wicked than for the Fool – (Proverbs 17:10, 12)

Our hearts, not only determine our actions and attitude toward God and others, but they also determine our ability to learn from the Lord's discipline and the Lord's rebuke. And the one thing that the Bible condemns more than the wicked person, is the foolish person. A wicked person, knows there is a God, and they know they are in rebellion against Him, but they continue anyways, despite the consequences because of their desires, and because of their love for rebellion. However, a fool denies God in their everyday life, they deny God in their hearts, and they reject the Holy Spirit's promptings in order to maintain their foolishness. They refuse to understand there is a God in Heaven, who loves them and they do so by blocking their heart to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because they love their rebellion more than they love God, and unfortunately for us there is no reaching the heart of a fool. That's a work for the Holy Spirit to carry out through God's sovereignty and omnipotence, therefore, we are always to be in prayer for the foolish at heart.
The foolish person, will purposely make themselves devoid of understanding regarding God, His word and the things of God, such as love, mercy and charity. Moreover, they do so in order that they can continue in their ignorance and rebellion against God's wisdom, and against His word, the Bible. The heart of a fool which can only look inward toward self, becomes wise in their own eyes and therefore, is oblivious to the destruction that awaits them. While a wicked person can repent and turn to Christ, there is no hope for a fool lost in their ridiculous and foolish behavior. This is because his heart has been severely hardened by their own sin. In many cases God must allow the trials and destruction brought about by their own foolishness, to touch their lives in such a way as to bend them before a Holy God. After which the Holy Spirit can do a work in their hearts in order for them to come to faith in Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we should always be in prayer for those who are foolish in heart, and at enmity with God. We should remain steadfast in our faith, love and compassion despite their ridicule and mockery of God. And above all we should not harden our hearts toward the foolish person, but understand they are part of a fallen world at enmity with God, just as we once were.
