God Can Bring Us Peace In the Presence of Our Enemies – (Proverbs 16:7)

Daily Bible Study
Jesus told us we would have tribulation; but be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world. And we know that because of our faith we will experience trials, why? Because of the fallen world we live in, which is at enmity with God. As Paul told us, "Satan is the prince of the power of the air." Satan, for now, has influence over the fallen world we live in, and for now, he has limited autonomy and control of those demons who followed him in his rebellion against God. His time is limited, before the return of Christ. Because of his rebellion against God, Satan hates anyone who follows Jesus and is active in their faith. This means, the only thing Satan hates more than a believer, is one who is active and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we know spiritual warfare is waged all around us. And this warfare is meant to harm us, discourage us and bring to nothing the work of Christ that we do in this world.
Therefore, we need to understand and be aware of the fact that Satan and his horde will attack those who are doing the work of Jesus, and they will do so for no other reason than to hinder our race. They will bring chaos into our lives and the lives of those around us. They can bring harm and physical illness as well. But we also know Jesus has overcome Satan and this dark world. Satan's a looser, the battle has already been lost and his future is already determined and set in Hell. Satan's only goal now is to take as many people with him as he can, just to spite God. The good news, is despite this God can and does give us victory and periods of rest. Moments when even our enemies are at peace with us. The Lord knows our frame, He knows our strengths and weaknesses and like any good father, He knows when we need rest in order to continue running the race set before us. Therefore, when we are working in and through the will of God following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God will give us times when even our enemies will be at peace with us.
