Daily Bible Study
Those who live by the spirit are fed by the spirit and they are satisfied. However, those who live by the flesh are fed by their own desires which stem from their sin nature. Therefore, they are never satisfied, because desires which stem from our flesh can never be filled. The wicked nature of our physical desires is they always want more. Even when what was initially desired has been achieved, the appetite changes. That is the nature of a life separated from God. The God size hunger in each of us can never be filled with worldly desires, not by gain, nor by adventure or activities. A soul in rebellion against God, can never consume enough or do enough to change a cold heart of stone into a warm beating heart of flesh.

Moreover, we must understand because of our sin nature, this fallen world can pervert the longing each of us has to be with God, into something worldly and self-centered. Those who are separated from God do not understand the hunger that fills every human soul, because that hunger is a spiritual desire to reunite with God. And it can never be filled with the things of this world. This means without Christ, that longing is only temporarily filled by gain or activities. It will never be completely satisfied. Once the "new thing" becomes common, the longing desire returns and the search begins again. Moreover, wickedness offered to us by the world, seeks only one goal our destruction. The wickedness of this world, can only be satisfied when it brings total destruction to those who give it a home in their souls.
