Pride the Sin that Brings Death – (Proverbs 13:10)

God is not talking about pride that comes with honest labor. Neither is God talking about the pride a parent has when their child makes a moral and just decision on their own without prompting. God is talking here about a destructive pride which stems from the love of self. God is speaking about arrogant pride that revolves around self. A pride that causes one's soul to lift itself above all else even God. A disease that leads to arrogance and a refusal to glorify God. Such pride carries nothing but death and it's the root cause behind many tales of destruction. Pride is what took Satan from being the pinnacle of God's creation, to the most despised enemy of God.

Pride brought Satan down to a point where his name is synonymous with evil. Satan because of his pride, has become the father of lies in his rebellion against God. Pride has only one outcome and that is death and destruction for all who claim it. The heart of pride is rebellion against God, it's the act of making ourselves first and foremost in our hearts, above all else. And with its first bite it injects the venom of blindness, which prevents its victims from seeing just how vile they have become to those they love and the world around them. As the venom of arrogance travels to the heart it destroys all flesh, and replaces it with stone in order to prevent its victim from seeking a cure. Pride does this in order to ensure as best it can the total destruction of those who harbor and cherish it.
