God’s Wisdom is a Wellspring for Life – (Proverbs 18:4)

Daily Bible Study
Our words measured with wisdom are like deep waters which provide life. The picture painted here equates wise speech with deep waters or a flowing brook, both of which are refreshing and provide life. True wisdom comes from the fear of the Lord, the study of His word and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit who indwells each and every believer. We have to remember that "Fear of the Lord," as spoken of in the Bible, means to have a deep, heartfelt love, admiration, respect and awe of God, His word and His work in our lives. Moreover, this deep love comes from the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and minds. As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus, who He is and what He has done for us, we gain wisdom from God. This is one of the many gifts of our salvation, given to us by God's grace, given to us because we are children of God through our faith in Jesus
Through Jesus our relationship with God grows deeper and our love for the lost and those around us grows stronger, as we grow in the knowledge of Jesus through the study of God's word, the Bible and our obedience to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Like a life giving water source, our relationship with God through Christ is essential to the spiritual life of a Christian. That relationship is our wellspring of water, the flowing brook which sustains us as we are nourished by the Holy Spirit. Our relationship with Jesus is a source of renewal, which God has freely given to us. And it's because of that relationship that we can grow in wisdom and grace through the study of God's word. That relationship first starts with placing our trust in Christ alone, by faith alone. By believing He is who He claimed to be, that is our Lord and our God! Jesus is fully God, fully man and He is the living God of the universe, who stepped out of eternity and took on humanity, in order to dwell with us and pay the redemption price for our sins, once and for all times! That by our faith in Him, we too may become sons and daughters of God.
