Daily Bible Study
One of the hardest realities for any parent to face is the pain of realizing that one's own child is a fool. Obdurate to God, proud, resistant, stubborn and foolish. As parents it breaks our hearts knowing the painful future which awaits them because of their foolishness. Our hearts break because we understand the joys in Christ which they may never experience because of their foolishness. Foolishness not only hinders their relationship with Jesus, but also hinders their relationships with family and friends. Foolishness like other sins, strives to isolate the sinner from godly influence in order to bring about greater destruction. As parents, we're painfully aware of the hard lessons in life that are waiting to overtake them because of their stubbornness and pride. As they focus on themselves and a fallen world at enmity with God, they drive themselves deeper into separation from God and far from Christ Jesus our Lord.

From our perspective, it seems impossible for them to ever see Jesus for who He really is, and turn their hearts to Him in faith. Therefore, we must always remember what's impossible for us to do under our own abilities is possible for God. Moreover, because of our status as children of God, we can come before the Lord in prayer. This means there is always hope in Christ Jesus our Lord, because through Him, our prayers avail much. And what seems impossible to us, is not impossible for God. This means, we always have to keep eternity in mind and trust the Lord in prayer. Through Christ all things are made new and therefore through prayer, we can place our children in the hands of God. The works of God are always for good and to bring souls to faith in Jesus. Where we may see impossibility and loss, God can bring hope and new life. God can place hope back into the lives of the lost and make even the impossible things a reality. And He does so to His glory and for His honor and praise.
