These passages are really reminding us that God watches us in business as well. This includes people who run big corporations, down to the individual selling directly to someone else. Some of the lies of our sin-nature which are common in business today include, "I can do this because no one is watching," "if I can hide things well, then it really didn't happen," "anything is ok in business as long as you make a profit and come out ahead" or "it's just business" and finally "any behavior is ok as long as I can justify it." And the biggest lie of sin is that it doesn't change us. However, dear child of God, all these lies and others like them, are from the very pit of Hell. Every time we knowingly sin, we harden our own hearts against God, against each other, and against the things of God. Every time we purposely sin, we change our hearts and this change brings about a hardening of our hearts toward ourselves, each other and God. Through our rebellion and purposeful sin, we increase our disharmony with God, with others and with ourselves.

And with estrangement we place ourselves ahead of God and thereby destroy ourselves from the inside out, as we harden our hearts and sear our conscience. Every time we knowingly allow a little sin to come in and look the other way, disharmony with God increases and the easier it is the next time to sin. Till before we know it, a detestable sin becomes an everyday occurrence. When sin overcomes a society, it always comes in little by little. Moreover, it will always have a justification as to why any particular sin of the moment is ok. And once a society hardens its heart, then increased tolerance is argued, in order to further the corruption to allow more sin to flow in with greater ease and lack of resistance. Sin will never show itself all at once, if it did, we would see it in its true detestable form, just as God sees it. No, instead, sin will creep in little by little, thereby deadening our sensitivity to it. Sin will sneak in bit by bit till its foothold is strong enough that it can step through the door completely. So, dear child of God, please remember, sin never gets full, sin will never say "enough!" Rather, it's appetite grows along with its size in order to consume more and more of our lives. Sin will never stop until it has completely destroyed the hearts and lives of those who embrace it.
