Our Faith Should Be Evident in Our Speech – (Proverbs 15:1-2)

Daily Bible Study
Often times how we say something, can affect whether or not our words are accepted with gratitude, or rejected in anger. And though we are not to ignore or cover-up sin, the wisdom of God can teach us a lot about how and when to speak. God's word gives us wisdom for living, wisdom for teaching and wisdom on how to reach others with the Gospel. It also gives us wisdom in how to treat one another, as we live out our daily lives. God's wisdom can show us how and when to speak to others. As we live our lives, we are to walk with the Lord, we are to follow His guidance through obedience to the Holy Spirit, and by this we can be an example to those around us. We are not just followers of Jesus, we are His representatives to the world around us.
We represent Jesus, in a world which has fallen into darkness, a world which is lost in sin. This is why Christians are called to be the "light of the world." Our calling is to shine the light of the Gospel for all to see. However, we need to remember and understand the Gospel of Christ should be evident in us for all to see, before we ever speak a word from our mouths. Therefore, how we treat others, how we respond to stress or respond when we are angry, speaks volumes about our walk with the Lord. What these verses are telling us is our Christianity should be evident from our behavior and how we speak to others. Our character and our love for Jesus should be apparent in how we interact with the world around us. As Christians, we must understand that people should truly know our faith, and how God has changed our character, by the way we display our faith in our day to day interactions with others.
